I'm not quite sure how it happened but I've recently turned 30. Though I'm literally just hours into my 30's I find that I have a few symptoms of old age. My belt is rising higher and higher above my naval, my hair is getting a new shine to it provided by some gray hairs and I find that I'm grunting more and more when I get up out of a chair. What the worst part of it all? When I see kids on the street lately I find myself thinking, "When I was their age...." usually followed by some thoughts expressing a general sense of disdain for today's youth. I guess it's official, I've grown up.
It's not all bad, I suppose. In 30 years I've gone from owning the streets of a small town in central Kansas to exploring the streets of the nation's capital. I've seen most of the country and explored parts of every state on the Atlantic coast. The next decade certainly should be dedicated to exploring the west Coast as I've never been there. I've even been able to make it out of the country a couple of times although never anywhere too exotic. Maybe that will be a good goal for the next few years.
I had a bit of a "quarter"-life crisis when I turned 26 and that led to me to wonder how I would feel when the clock struck 30. Well... Life is Good. I wish you all the same.
